Our Objectives
- 1Unity, equity and mutual respect among communities
- 2Education, leadership and youth engagement
- 3Dialogue with governments and institutions
- 4Lawful civic, social and economic participation

Our Federation Model
Communities are the voting members
Member community associations — not individuals — hold the vote in ASA. Each community keeps its autonomy while contributing to shared decisions.
Double-majority decisions
Major decisions require a majority of member communities and a majority of votes cast, so that both large and small communities are heard.
Chartered affiliates
The ASA model can be chartered by affiliates elsewhere, allowing replication across Africa, North America and Europe under common principles.
Our History
Yansané (Yans) Boukhary
Founder
Africa Summit Alberta was founded by Yansané (Yans) Boukhary, who saw that Alberta's many community associations could achieve far more together than apart. Through patient dialogue with community leaders, the idea of a provincial federation took shape and was formally incorporated in 2025.
Our Board of Directors will be elected at the Extraordinary Assembly on January 10, 2027.
